Homeless man's sleeping bag 'binned by council' days before he is found dead in the freezing cold weather.
In a recent article produced by the Mirror, it was claimed a 66-year-old man was found dead near a town hall in Bournemouth as it was reported the council had taken away his sleeping bag just days before. in response to the article, the council released a statement claiming they had tried to 'engage' with the rough sleeper for many years, in order to help him. the body of the homeless man was found by a fellow homeless friend who claimed the man's possessions and the sleeping bag had been taken away just days earlier in an attempt to clean up the area. this is not the first time the same council has been accused of trying to stop people sleeping in this area as it was reported they even play loud music in the towns bus and railway area to avoid people sleeping here.
This is not the first time ever this month an issue like this has been raised as Windsor council previously stated that it is there aim to clear up the streets of Windsor of homeless before the royal wedding this year leading to much controversy over the mistreatment of the homeless.
this article helps raise awareness of the huge issue of mistreatment of the homeless in the UK, there are currently more than 250, 000 homeless people living in the UK alone.

additionally the gardian also recently released an article on the abuse and suffering the homeless will face in the streets. according to there, recent research homeless suffer from shooking amounts of physical and verbal abuse from the public. which shows what z huge issues this is. in the article, they claim homeless people are 17 times more likely to suffer from violent abuse compared to someone else.
i personally see this abuse and treatment as shooking and very wrong as no matter where someone lives or their situation at that time everyone is entitled to human rights the man who unfortunately died while living on the streets had his personal possetions taken away from him which I feel is wrong as he was entitled to keep his things.
