Representation of age in the media
on all platforms of media different age groups are presented in different ways for example often the youth of today is often presented in a negative light as deviants in society and troublemakers.in todays media we commonly hear about the younger generation causing trouble in public and being involved in gang violence and taking drugs, we rarely hear about the good many also do in society. young people are often all generalised in one group and are often blamed for all gang-related crimes and all perceived as criminals.

for example in the link above they talk about the criminal acts young people in gangs commit as they do not have the education to get a job to make money their own way. in the article, the youngest member we meet is only 14 and talks about how members are threatened with death if they ever consider leaving.
on the other hand, the older generation is often portrayed as sweet and innocent in the media, we often hear stories about the mistreatment and neglect of the elderly.
in the media we are often lead to feel sorry for the elderly as they are seen as vunrable and lonely.
