New alleged child sex abuse by aid workers reported as charities vow to take action at summit.

recent allegations of sexual abuse of children and other in countries suffering from disasters and conflict. it has been reported while aid workers have been sent to these areas suffering from the conflict they have reportedly abused a number of children they are supposed to be providing with aid. the charity commissions have reported receiving over 80 complaints of Oxfam staff abusing children or using prostitutes while in Haiti providing aid, however, the incident has only recently come to light. 

I feel the recent allegations are absolutely shocking and more shocking that they have only recently come to light. volunteers who have been sent into suffering and vulnerable countries to offer help who would have been praised for there work and contribution however unbeknown to us they were abusing there role and power in these areas and only inflicting more pain. 

The article I am referring to is the Independent, which is a tabloid newspaper who claim they are, "free from party political bias, free from proprietorial influence" which would suggest they are a fair and reliable source of information.  

This article is adressing the larger issue of child abuse and sexual abuse which is sadly very commen as occurs all around the world.You may find it surprising however it is all to commen statistics show 1 in 20 children in the uk would have suffered from sexual abuse. Sadly this can not be entirely accurate as 1 in 3 children will never report this abuse. 

I find this article surprising as I feel charity volunteers should be seen as great people is society who is caring and kind and often a lot of people will put there trust in them however recent events may affect this trust people may have with charity volunteers as clearly some have taken advantage of there role and used it to manipulate people who are already in a sad situation which is awful.
